URL: https://www.simivalley.org/home/showpublisheddocument/25696/637976500697670000 Ideal Candidate The Ideal Candidate should be self-motivated, ability to learn new skills, and have the ability to perform moderate to heavy labor in an outdoor inclement weather environment. This candidate should have basic knowledge utilizing a computer to send e-mails with attachments and create basic Word documents. Other skills, abilities, and basic knowledge of landscape maintenance, use of power and hand tools, construction knowledge, grounds-keeping, taking and reading measurements with measuring tapes, math principles to estimate square footage and materials needed, reading and interpreting equipment manuals, basic blueprints and drawings, safe and efficient use or the ability to learn to operate a tractor (Skip Loader), forklift, scissor aerial platform lift, perform routine safety checks and perform preventative maintenance procedures on equipment and vehicles used or as assigned. "Simiflex Dollars" can be used to offset the cost of medical, dental, and/or vision insurance, or other optional benefits. Medical and dependent care flexible spending accounts are also available.

  • 2% @ 62 CalPERS formula for New members, 4th Level Survivor Benefit, and three-year average highest final compensation.
  • 457(b) plan; City contribution of $20 per paycheck and match up to $50 per paycheck.

  • The City does not participate in the Social Security system; therefore, there is no FICA deduction from wages except for Medicare hospital insurance protection.
  • Dental Insurance: After the City contribution of up to $90.02 per month, Dental insurance from Delta Dental costs the employee $0 per month for family coverage depending on plan chosen.
  • 11 paid holidays per year and one floating holiday per year.
  • Vision Insurance: After the City contribution of $21.00 per month, Vision insurance from VSP costs the employee $1.46 per month for family coverage.
  • 2% @ 55 CalPERS formula for Classic members (includes Individuals who were active members of a reciprocal public retirement system within the last six months, or were previously employed with the City of Simi Valley and enrolled in CalPERS prior to January 1, 2013), 4th Level Survivor Benefit, and single-highest year final compensation.
