Job Description
What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Manager to lead Castings Operations at Gigafactory Texas. You will be responsible for equipment and maintenance engineering to ramp up, sustain, and improve our production lines for advanced structural casting operations. The Maintenance Manager will work with cross-functional teams throughout the entire lifecycle of the product and processes. They will work closely with Design Engineering, Process, Production, Manufacturing, NPI and Quality teams to scale up and meet full mass production volume.
What You’ll Do
  • Make countermeasures for timely completion of project goals.
  • Drive maintenance team to achieve established targets for daily going Equipment Up time.
  • Enforce proper material management procedures.
  • Ensure consistency in standards and documentation. Monitor and ensure compliance.
  • Support and manage continuous improvement activities in safety, environmental, quality, cost, efficiency, and productivity objectives.
  • Support new product and material introductions team. Interact with design team to coordinate new equipment launches.
  • Ensure appropriate preventative maintenance systems are in place and appropriate actions are taken to maintain the facility in good operating condition.
  • Procure equipment Spare Parts, track budget costs and project schedules.
  • Ensure optimal use of resources and adherence to best safety practices.
  • Conduct analysis and prepare reports on projects and process improvements.
  • Define Casting shop maintenance objectives to meet business plans, capacity & headcount targets, and key performance indicators.
  • Responsible for maintenance and future projects at Gigafactory Texas.
  • Development and continuous improvement of key shop metrics.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and cross functional teams to improve and meet goals.
What You’ll Bring
  • Ability to work well under pressure, manage competing demands and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with High or low Pressure Die Castings.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years related Metal Mechanics Manufacturing experience, 3+ years management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical assembly environment.
  • In-depth understanding of mechanical and standardized processes.
  • A strong sense of urgency and commitment to keep the area functional.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies to optimize efficiency and throughput.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
