THE POSITION – Social Media Intern

Are you looking for an exciting internship experience? Our paid Internship Program provides real-world experience for students who are interested in the live entertainment industry. After finishing this program, you will have gained broad experience in various aspects live entertainment business. You can also expect to apply your academic learning to real-world situations and cultivate your leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. This is a part-time position, up to 25 hours per week.

The Social Media team member is responsible for creating and sustaining our social presence ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency in messaging. The ideal candidate will have experience working with written content, video, audio, and visual media, and a keen eye for culture. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that all messaging stays within brand while working with marketers, designers, promoters and other content creators to sustain high-quality content that resonates with the brand's audience. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for culture, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the importance of messaging across all mediums.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

  • Improve channel engagement and performance.
  • Monitor reach of all our social media channels
  • Present and review the social media strategy to Marketing.
  • Ensure that social communities are actively managed, with customer queries answered swiftly and escalated where necessary.
  • Manage postings over multiple social mediums in a consistent manner.
  • Implement effective processes to ensure smooth and timely delivery of assets to channels.
  • Produce and distribute (bi-weekly) reporting and analysis of all social media data.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as requested.
  • Actively contribute to team communications and marketing strategy during meetings.
  • Input and adhere to the correct tone-of-voice and style guide when delivering on-brand content across all channels.
  • Maximize engagement and growth with our community.
  • Identify and communicate key marketing trends and insights, cultural moments and new and emerging channels.
  • Own and curate social calendar.
  • Create and proactively monitor a competitor landscape.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Learning how to properly research target demographics.
  • Learn the process of marketing concerts & festivals.
  • Learn how to effectively manage social platforms & sustain an engaging narrative.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Junior or Senior standing
  • Proficient within social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & TikTok.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited College or University; Preferably in a filed related to the internship you are applying for.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • 2-3 years of experience in social media strategy in a professional setting.
  • A passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of the importance of messaging across all mediums.

This program is during Summer 2023.

The expected compensation for this position in California is:

$16.04 USD Hourly
