Job Description

Grandview is seeking a Literary Assistant to support a Manager/Partner. The Assistant will provide administrative support to the Manager, work closely with various departments, and be heavily involved in sourcing opportunities for clients (writers, directors, talent). This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a career in the representation business!


Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Manage submissions.
  • Build itineraries for business trips.
  • Maintain a database of contact information for directors, writers, and talent.
  • Scheduling and calendar management.
  • Interface with high-profile clients, producers, and executives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Read, summarize, and analyze books and scripts and provide coverage.
  • Prepare and submit monthly expense reports.
  • Manage booking reports.
  • Liaise between partners, agents, clients, and peers.
  • Managing and rolling a high volume of phone calls.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient with Zoom meetings and presentations.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Possesses a genuine passion for the representation business in movies, television, and storytelling.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated a proactive disposition, resourcefulness, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to exercise discretion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be an avid reader and read materials quickly and provide a clear synopsis of the material.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in film, television, media studies, or related field, required.
  • At least 1 year of assistant experience in an agency or management company required.


Compensation: $18.00 to $22.00 per hour.
