Brief Description: Sev1Tech is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to join us in providing superior IT solutioning, strategy and managed services to of our our premiere clients. The ideal candidate is team-oriented, passionate about technology and customer service, and has a history of providing best-in-class services surrounding Linux RedHat Administration.
Job Functions:
- Maintain a secure computing environment, including adherence to backup schedules, patching, virus updates, and regular security scanning and remediation.
- Troubleshoot to address stability of environment, both pre-emptively and reactively.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within our customer environments.
- Install, maintain, and support multiple Linux-based servers on physical and virtual platforms in support of program initiatives.
- Interface with internal customers and management teams in planning for, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting services and systems.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Experience working in a complex environment with the ability to overcome obstacles, seek assistance, and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Extensive experience working in a ticketing system, updating tickets, documenting work, and delivering status to end-users
- 5 years' experience maintaining and patching servers
- Proven ability to provide excellent Customer Service
- Ability to support 8am - 5pm MT, Monday through Friday working hours
- 5+ years of enterprise Linux Systems Administration experience in a Tier 1/2/3 Operations setting
- Knowledge of patching methodologies for both O/S, RHEL kernel and software packages in an enterprise environment
- Linux OS experience with an emphasis on RedHat, specifically RHEL 5/6/7/8 on servers and endpoints
- Must have strong documentation skills, organization skills, and the ability to interact with team members cross-functionally
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong break/fix capability; troubleshooting, deployment, configuration, and maintenance skillset
- Strong organization and project management/project coordination skills
- Experience providing on-Call support. Minimal after hours and weekends.
