Position: Associate Systems Administrator

(Location: Atlanta, GA - Hybrid)

The Associate Systems Administrator (SA) reports to the Manager, IT & Operations. The SA functions as a subject matter expert (SME) for systems, cell phone administration, Microsoft related issues, laptop break/fix, and trouble ticket management in the IT operations environment. The SA will possess the skills, attitude, communication skills, and hands-on experience necessary for monitoring and managing the daily operational queue of issues related to the aforementioned technologies. The SA will be tasked with direct customer interaction in resolving laptop, phone, and account related administrative issues.

The systems environment at Elemica consists of virtual (VMC on AWS) and physical servers running Windows Server 2012-2019 (~20).

The Responsibilities:

• Microsoft AutoPilot
• Apple Ecosystem (iOS, macOS)
• Upkeep of the complete documentation for deployed laptop base, inventory and acquisition/return record keeping for laptops, phones, and associated peripherals.
• Active Directory (AD) administration including account creation in support of onboarding activities, as well as account decommissioning related to the off-boarding process.
• Managing the Zendesk trouble ticket queue and resolving issues related to Microsoft platforms, cell phone administration, and laptop/peripheral user issues, break/fix repair, and dispatch of related support organizations.
• Microsoft Azure Services
• Assisting with the development and implementation of efficient operations management processes and guidelines including customer services support, availability and performance monitoring, and security for all systems and infrastructure.
• Microsoft Intune (MDM for cell phones and for laptops)
• Microsoft Office365
• The ideal candidate will combine strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies with particular emphasis on AD and Windows server administration, laptop break/fix and general user support as well as ability to develop skills in any of the following areas:
  • Microsoft Office365
  • Microsoft Intune (MDM for cell phones and for laptops)
  • Microsoft AutoPilot
  • Microsoft Azure Services
  • Apple Ecosystem (iOS, macOS)

The Experience, Education and Skills Required:

• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
• Hands-on technical expertise in the areas of systems administration, end user support and working knowledge of server and network architectures
• Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with a diverse and geographically dispersed team
• Ability to work independently on numerous activities and provide guidance and informational updates to others on the team
• Highly motivated, resourceful, and willing to take initiative on daily and project based tasks
• Participate in on-call rotation at a team level
• Strong communication skills (English written and verbal) a must
• Working knowledge of networking and server concepts and troubleshooting
• Excellent organizational, documentation skills
• Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent experience, certifications, or technical training
• Proactive in-depth monitoring, tuning and reporting of system and security environments
• 2+ years of related direct hands-on experience required supporting systems, virtual environments and end user devices including Dell, HP laptops, MAC, and Apple iPhone technologies
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Hands-on knowledge of laptop operating systems (Windows/MAC), cell phone setup, and use of industry-standard toolsets
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
