Dawson, a K-12 independent school of 535 students located east of Boulder on a beautiful 112-acre campus, seeks an exceptional part-time (25 hours per week)Library Assistantstarting August 1, 2023. This position will provide library and media support to the K-12 Librarian. Dawson is a growing and passionate educational community dedicated to the healthy development and education of all of its students. This position works a faculty schedule.

The Library Assistant supports dynamic learning experiences for our students in the Learning Commons. This person is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of the library space, including check-in and -out of library materials, engaging with students using the space, enforcing Learning Commons policies, and helping with special events.

Professional Qualifications

• Previous work in a library, school environment, or youth organization helpful
• Experience with G-suite technology and MAC

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the K-12 Librarian to develop and promote the digital collection.
• Assist with conducting programs, presentations, and workshops and create participatory experiences for the community.
• Assist the K-12 Librarian in maintaining and promoting the print collection.
• Assist with providing training for faculty and students to use the library resources effectively.
• Create an inviting space for students and faculty to engage with and explore a wide variety of resources and materials.
• Assist the K-12 Librarian with book check out, shelving, etc.
• Engage and supervise middle and high school students in the Learning Commons space.

The hourly salary range for this part-time position is $20-$25 per hour. Compensation is commensurate with experience and relevant skills.
