About the Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars are a professional football team and a member of the National Football League’s AFC South Division. The Jaguars are one of the NFL’s youngest franchises, playing their first regular season home game on September 3, 1995 in Jacksonville, Fla., and have since won four division titles. The Jaguars are owned by Shahid Khan, a visionary leader whose businesses include Flex-N-Gate, Fulham Football Club, All Elite Wrestling, Bold Events and Iguana Investments. Since 2012, Mr. Khan’s impact on the Northeast Florida community has exceeded $500 million, including charitable giving through the Jaguars Foundation, capital improvements to TIAA Bank Field and the creation of Daily’s Place, which hosts upwards of 40 concerts a year. Over the next several years, the Jaguars and Iguana Investments will build a new Sports Performance Center to house all football operations and launch Phase 1 of the Shipyards, a complete reimagination of the riverfront which will include a five-star hotel, office building and modernized marina.

Summary
The Legends Coordinator is a critical component to the Jaguars dedication and efforts to support its players throughout the entirety of their career and beyond. This role is actively involved in the off-the-field development of players and their transition away from the game and is primarily tasked with establishing long-lasting, meaningful relationships predicated on trust, creating and executing holistic professional growth and the wellbeing of former players.
Job Responsibilities
  • Establish and build relationships with a wide range of Legends: maintain regular communication with Legends via direct contact, email campaigns, events, and social media.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
  • Stay current on all league and players association policies and programs related to former players.
  • Support all current and new community outreach efforts.
  • Coordinate career support services that connect Legends with resources including professional development programs, training opportunities, and networking events.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of Legends outreach programs.
  • Assist with Community Impact and Football Development responsibilities and assignments.
  • Ensure the existence and comprehensive and accurate alumni database, as well as personal information provided by Legends is handled in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Manage Legends website content.
  • Coordinate events and programs including Alumni Weekend, networking opportunities, Jaguars Legends signings, community and game-day appearances.
  • Assist in producing annual comprehensive summary of all Legends outreach.
  • Coordinate and maintain yearly budget for all Legends programs.
  • Develop goals, metrics, and processes for measuring performance for Legends Department programs; maintain accurate and efficient system of program reporting to reflect investment impact.
  • Assist in program assessment and goal setting for the upcoming year.
  • Accountable for ensuring Legends-based programs, which include sponsor elements, reach fulfillment.
Job Requirements
Required
  • Demonstrated ability to drive diversified, scalable, and sustainable programs.
  • A strong understanding of the professional sports business, including the importance of working with current and former professional athletes.
  • A strong strategic planning experience: in translating strategies into concrete action plans: ability to balance strategy, execution, and accountability.
  • Must be flexible to work evenings and/or weekends and all Jacksonville Jaguars and Stadium events, including events held on weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in community relations, public relations, alumni relations or project/event management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Sports Management, Marketing or a related field.
  • Must pass pre-employment screens.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be willing to travel.

Preferred
  • Computer savvy.
  • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment with ability to multi-task and collaborate.
  • Must adapt, with minimal advance notice, to changes in how business is conducted and work is accomplished.
  • Must exhibit professionalism as it relates to budget management and meeting deadlines.
  • Must be able to handle confidential, privileged, and/or sensitive information with carefully and with sensitivity.
  • Must exhibit professionalism when interacting with staff, members of the media, and players/coaches.
  • Act as a role model within and outside the Jacksonville Jaguars organization.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to conceptualize, execute, and see projects through to completion.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Strength in public speaking and event management.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle physical rigors of event set up, break down and related job functions.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups.
