Laboratory Director - Ivf (Remote)

A healthcare network in Florida is currently seeking a new Laboratory Director - IVF for a promising Remote position as part of their Senior Management Team. In this role, the Laboratory Director - IVF (Remote) will be responsible for designing a state of the art ART Lab, obtaining regulatory approval, recruiting the staff and getting the ART Lab, Andrology Lab and Diagnostics Lab operational.

Responsibilities

The Laboratory Director - IVF (Remote) will:

• Oversee that IVF, Andrology and Diagnostics functions in the clinic
• Implement all aspects of the routine embryology and andrology services offered by our clinic, talking patients through the process and ensuring that they receive the best service possible
• Work with the Digital team to develop AI tools
• Oversee routine laboratory & clinic administration, ensuring adherence to Accreditation requirements and utilization of correct policies and procedures
• Lead an ambitious research program to improve success rates at the clinic
• Perform other duties, as needed
• Stay abreast of the latest research and evidence in their field to ensure that the clinic is able to offer cutting edge treatments to improve pregnancy outcomes

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong cognitive, analytical and problem-solving skills and decision making
• Basic knowledge of Pharmacology, Biochemistry and Microbiology as they relate to assisted human conception.
• Extensive knowledge of planning, design and implementation of procedural systems, laboratory instrumentation, methodology and safety; statistics and computer applications (word processor, spreadsheets, graphics, statistics).
• Master’s degree in Biology or Laboratory Science
• Highly organized
• Extensive knowledge of existing regulations and legislation regarding human assisted conception.
• Certified/accredited or eligible for certification and accreditation by the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society as Clinical Laboratory Director in both Andrology and Embryology
• Strong attention to detail
• Great interpersonal skills
• Extensive knowledge of the operations of an ART Laboratory, Quality & Risk Management and Improvement principles and practices
• 7+ years of hands on experience in human IVF field.
• Basic understanding of Budgetary and Resource Management processes
• Extensive knowledge and practical skills with Andrology and Embryology procedures and hands on experience in all aspects of ART including gamete cryopreservation

Desired Skills:

• PhD Degree in Biology and/or the Biological Sciences
