- Two years of experience performing specialized clerical such as: drafting memos and correspondence, gathering data for reports, and providing customer service duties
- Post-secondary education may substitute for the minimum experience on a year-for-year basis
- High school diploma or GED
- The Maricopa County Attorney's Office requires a thorough background check of all successful candidates and is authorized to test prospective employees for the presence of illegally accessed drugs. Drug testing is conducted once an offer has been extended and prior to placement
- Valid Arizona driver’s license upon hire
- Clerical/customer service experience in a law office, judicial, or law enforcement environment
- Locate, order, pull, create, and organize case files
- Enter data for basket submittals and in-jail submittals using information provided by various police agency reports
- Enter and retrieve case information from various databases including Motor Vehicle Department, Justice Court database, and Superior Court database, among others
- Organizes case files for destruction and/or storage
- Maintain a current TOC with the Department of Public Safety
- Processes criminal cases for electronic record-keeping of criminal case information in the Prosecutor by Karpel record management system
- Perform statistical data collection and tracking
- Research persons' information in state and national criminal history databases
- Mostly office setting in high volume, fast-paced legal office environment
- May require travel to and from job-related locations during a scheduled workday, subject to County policies regarding the use of County vehicles and/or private vehicles used on County business
- Hybrid and alternative work schedules are available upon successful completion of the 6–12-month probationary period
- Requires long periods of sitting while completing computer activities
- Ability to lift boxes and/or pull mailcart weighing 25 – 40 pounds
- Must pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive
