The pay range listed above reflects the FULL pay range for this position. Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. The position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

As the Legal Support Assistant, you will perform a variety of entry-level specialized clerical support duties of limited complexity with established guidelines and procedures within the justice system.

We Require


  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of experience performing specialized clerical duties
  • Post-secondary education may substitute for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Job Contributions


  • Review, retrieve and distribute Victim Information Sheets daily
  • Enter and retrieve case information from various databases, including motor vehicle department, justice court database, and superior court database, among others
  • Provide reception relief/coverage; answer multi-line telephone - answer general information questions, transfer calls, take messages
  • Review electronic minute entry folder. Retrieve and distribute electronic pleadings and minute entries
  • Prepare case for assignment and generate corresponding case-related documents
  • Maintain a current terminal operator certification with Department of Public Safety
  • Retrieve and distribute database reminders
  • Generate notifications as required by Victim Rights' statutes
  • Organize case files for close-out and storage. Enter case disposition and close-out information into the Maricopa County Attorney's Office internal database


Working Conditions


  • Mostly office setting in high volume, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel to and from various county locations for meetings and trainings, utilizing personal or county vehicle
  • Ability to lift boxes and pull mailcart weighing 25 – 40 pounds
  • Requires long periods of sitting while completing computer activities
  • Hybrid and alternative work schedules are available upon successful completion of the 6-12-month probationary period
