POSITION INTRO

ARU is seeking an experienced Legal Operations professional to join our growing legal department. ARU seeks a legal operations professional who: has excellent business process improvement skills, is naturally curious and academic-minded, is experienced producing polished and professional written reports, is a very fast learner, is highly collaborative, has extremely strong organizational skills, and demonstrates an impeccable commitment to thoroughness and detail.

DUTIES:

  • Other, as assigned.
  • Collaborate with company Operations Manager on overall change management practices and procedures. Perform as a key resource leading an infectious culture of constant improvement. Train business users on new processes and perform as internal audit resource to ensure new practices and procedures are adhered to in accordance with company priorities and directives.
  • Treat every assignment as an opportunity to: 1) learn and grow as a professional, and 2) prepare for increased responsibilities in the company.
  • Perform with a high level of polish and professionalism, in all spoken and written communications. Address internal and external business challenges in a graceful and tactful manner. Complete all duties with a high degree of urgency, thoroughness, and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with company Operations Manager to assess current company data management / retention and knowledge management. Perform as a key resource implementing, documenting, and managing company data management / retention and knowledge management, in accordance with best practices.
  • Assess other current company processes and practices regarding legal operations. Develop and implement process improvements based on adherence to best practices. Maintain thorough documentation of these practices and procedures, including, but not limited to via business process mapping. Continually monitor and improve these processes and procedures, and the accompanying documentation.
  • Support CEO, CFO, General Counsel, and Operations Manager on special projects.
  • Help ARU be the best in the world at what we do, and do not ever settle for mediocrity. Actively participate in ARU’s culture of collaborative problem-solving.
  • Perform as overall integral part of the company's growing Legal department, supporting the CEO and General Counsel on a wide array of legal matters, including but not limited to using software such as Westlaw, supporting contract negotiations, and performing legal research.
  • Perform as lead resource planning for and implementing new CLM software, in collaboration with the company CEO and General Counsel. Perform appropriate discovery and workflow mapping of all internal contract workflows, and translate these to the new CLM. Import all existing contracts into the CLM repository and set up monitoring in accordance with company business needs.
  • Perform as a key resource in the company's overall compliance efforts, in collaboration with the company CFO and Accounting Manager. Track key requirements and deadlines, communicate with external parties, gather and update required licensing and other information, and maintain thorough records in accordance with best practices. Prepare for internal and external compliance audits and work with auditors as requested.


WHAT WE MINIMALLY REQUIRE - YOUR EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLSET:

  • 3+ years experience with all of the following: general legal operations, business process improvement, business process mapping, data management, compliance, records management, and knowledge management
  • 3+ years experience with design, planning, implementing, and managing CLM software
  • Exceptional personal organization,time-management, and record-keeping skills
  • Proven ability to take ownership of assigned responsibilities and accompanying results
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the strong ability to resolve challenging situations with a patient and calm demeanor
  • Naturally-curious, with an enjoyment of learning and self-improvement
  • Professional, polished, and tactful, in the spoken word and in written form
  • Excellent critical thinker and problem-solver under pressure
  • Proficient with modern business technology
  • Bachelor degree from an accredited 4 year college or university


REMOTE POSITION / HOME OFFICE / TIME ZONE REQUIREMENTS:

  • This is a 100% remote position. As such, adherence to remote-work best practices is required, which includes (but is not limited to) having an appropriate professional home-office set-up, with reliable high speed internet. The space used for the office must be a separate enclosed room with a door that closes and that has professional decor appropriate for video conferencing.
  • As this is a remote position, we welcome candidates from anywhere in U.S. However, a requirement of the position is to work either CENTRAL or EASTERN time standard business hours.
