• Working with Legal Counsel, Data Privacy to provide US privacy advice on international matters
• Working with colleagues in the Data and Technology tower on matters in the US market with an international dimension
• Supporting the delivery of new products, services, and projects from a US privacy perspective
• Participate in the development of legally compliant consumer-facing subscription order flows
• Keeping up to date with the latest developments in legal, commercial and industry trends
• Supporting the work of Associate Counsel, Privacy Operations on privacy operational and training matters in the US, including providing subject matter expertise on new privacy laws in the US
• Supporting responses to privacy related regulatory investigations and litigation in the US market
• Promoting Condé Nast’s data governance strategies and activities in-market
• Supporting the provision of data privacy advice across other towers in Legal & Policy, and in markets outside the US as it relates to US privacy issues
• Supporting the completion of privacy rights requests in the US market
• Partnering with relevant stakeholders, providing legal support on privacy related breaches in the US market
• Counsel business leaders across the US market, on a broad range of matters, including data privacy, technology and security, and consumer regulatory matters.
• Supporting the business on day-to-day data privacy matters in the US market, including: contract and document reviews from a US privacy perspective; marketing and data use consents; privacy impact assessments

• Confident, self-starter who welcomes the opportunity presented by being the first holder of this role
• Ability to present legal advice in a pragmatic, problem solving and commercial fashion
• Legally qualified in the US with ideally 2-4 years minimum relevant experience
• Background in US consumer law, including an awareness of emerging trends, regulation, and best practices
• Strong experience in privacy law gained either in private practice or in an in-house role in a similar sector to Condé Nast, including a thorough knowledge of applicable industry codes and best practice
• Positive “can do” attitude and willingness to work flexibly and as part of a new and evolving team that is itself operating in a business and sector going through change
