Legal Consultant - Data Privacy

Our client, a global asset management firm, has an exciting opportunity for a legal consultant in the data privacy and cybersecurity space. Ideal candidates will have knowledge and experience in financial services or similar.

In this role, you will ensure compliance with privacy and data protection laws and regulations, and work closely with legal departments to assess and mitigate privacy risks associated with the data processing activities.

• Negotiate privacy and cyber terms in vendor agreements, such as data processing agreements and data security agreements.
• Provide assistance in responding to and remediating data incidents impacting the organization, including advising on privacy-related notification obligations.
• Conduct and draft privacy impact assessments (PIAs, DPIAs, TRAs) for data processing activities involving service providers.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor degree, preferred
• 5+ years of relevant experience in data privacy and protection, ideally in the financial space
• Knowledge of privacy and data protection laws in Europe and US (federal and state)
• IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professionals) certification, preferred

Work Arrangement: Ideally 3 days per week in the office, but open to remote candidates
