Job Description
Summary


As a Legal Administrative Specialist at the GS-0901-12, you will be part of Office of Legal Counsel, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. If selected, you will be responsible for providing assistance by way of advice and consultation to FOIA Division attorneys, Government Information Specialists (GIS), and other FOIA Division staff on the application of electronic systems and software on behalf of the FOIA Division.

Duties


  • Consults with FOIA team regarding the implementation of, and implementing within the eDRMS for case teams, workflows to facilitate search strategies, batching of documents and the application of advanced analytic technologies within the eDRMS.
  • Provides or arranges for specific administrative or technical training necessary for accomplishment of individual and team tasks relating to eDRMS workflows and production methods.
  • Develops templates, views, and layouts useful as a starting point in FOIA document review and customizing these items and features as needed in individual matters.
  • Trains or arranges for the training of FOIA team members in eDRMS workflows and production. methods, and on established internal protocols relating to eDRMS workflows and productions.
  • Leads and performs work involving the establishment, customization, and implementation of workflows in the eDiscovery Review Management System (eDRMS) to facilitate end-user use of the eDRMS.
  • When required, writes thorough and comprehensive reports of processes and findings and provides expert testimony.
  • Performs Other Job-Related Duties as Assigned.
  • Assists supervisory and management personnel in tracking progress of all FOIA Division requests for electronic discovery support services work and confers with the assigned staff.

Qualifications


For the GS-12: You must have one year of specialized experience, comparable to the GS-11. Specialized experience includes experience planning, organizing, and completing requests used eDiscovery Review Management System (eDRMS) for FOIA or discovery purposes within specified time limits, by formulating the appropriate strategies necessary to arrive at solutions in the most expiditious manner, analyzing a variety of legal and operational issues as related to the provision of FOIA or discovery support services in and the effective application of technological tools for management of public information requests and the discover related to the litigation of any requests, and providing advice regarding small and large-scale document reviews.


Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS- 12 level.


Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements (e.g., time-in-grade and qualification requirements) within 30 days of the closing date specified in the vacancy announcement.
