Job Description
Description
The Learning and Development Specialist will contibute to the firm's overall success of new hire orientation, training plan development, workshops, internship program, and more. You will be responsibile to provide support through developing and scheduling training sessions and meetings, managing expenses, developing and sending communications/announcements, maintenance of all learning systems, and booking registrations as required for group attendance.
What you will do:
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Coordinates the training schedule with different departments
  • Contributes to development of different curriculums
  • Prepares periodic, standardized reports and analyses of development and training needs
  • Pro-actively tracks class participation which includes rating and attendance and records into a database
  • Prepares financial documents and reports
  • Supports the internal and external training programs for the firm, targeting technical, software, business leadership and soft skills
  • Maintains a record of all Firm employee memberships including AICPA, VSCPA and MACPA, process payments in a timely manner
  • Reviews surveys of all firm learning sessions to ensure learning is effective and suggest changes as needed
  • Maintains documentation for the firm’s NASBA accreditation
  • Presents information with a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures
  • Develops, updates and maintains current training materials, Training Flashes and/or any communication necessary
  • Maintains all internal Learning Management Systems
  • Designs, plans, organizes, or directs orientation and training programs for employees or customers
  • Orders and prepares materials that are required to perform an effective training class
  • Evaluates, reviews, and proofreads training materials for accuracy and thoroughness
  • Negotiates contracts with clients or service providers
Position Requirements
What you need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Accounting, or a related field
  • Ability to occasionally travel to facilitate workshops and trainings
  • A positive attitude and passion for the Learning a Development profession.
  • A desire to make a postive impact
  • 2 years of experience coordinating projects (or events) and resources
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong Communicator
Bonus points
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Accounting , or a related field
  • Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of CPA licensure requirements
  • Experience in a training department
