We are seeking an experienced Learning and Development Manager for our First Quality Retail Services facility located in Lewistown, PA.
The primary purpose of the role is being responsible for overseeing the delivery of hourly training within the plant. Manage Training within the Plant and provides salaried training to team members. Maintains and develops LMS training modules for online delivery. Provides resources for additional training within the sister companies. Work with enterprise-wide training initiatives. Direct supervisor for training specialists.
Primary responsibilities include:
•Direct the development of a comprehensive training strategy, methodology, programs and curriculum for management opportunity, employee development and technical training.
•Develop a means of measuring the effectiveness of training programs through testing, evaluations, etc.
•Collaborate with Department Managers to design appropriate training curriculum and needs assessments for professional and technical positions within the organization.
•Training and Education – develop, execute, and continuously improve the company training and education processes, which include creating a learning organization and ensuring linkage to the performance management system; Ensure alignment of company goals and mission through strategic training management and implementation.
•Leadership Development – develop, execute, and continuously improve the company development strategy.
•Career and Succession Planning – assist the HR manager to develop, execute and continuously improve the career and succession planning process to ensure the capability and sustainability of the leadership bench to achieve the overall business strategy in the future.
•Infrastructure – identify and implement the appropriate processes, tools and systems to support development; determine appropriate blend of traditional learning approaches with existing and new technologies in order to create and deliver best in class learning programs; track statistics and create additional learning and performance metrics as required; evaluate learning programs and effectiveness through the collection of data and feedback.
•Consultation – serve as an internal performance consultant to the organization; design, develop, and deliver effective learning programs for leaders; consult with leaders on professional development planning for an implementation.
•Maintain a database detailing employee training dates, types of training, qualification, and recertification dates.
•Research, apply for and manage training grants and reimbursement process.
•Partner with Human Resources for strengthening the New Employee Orientation Onboarding and teambuilding initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
•Bachelor’s Degree required; master’s degree Preferred (in Education or Training and Performance Improvement)
•5+ years in a combination of setting up and managing an education-based training department with a strong emphasis on curriculum design and methodology.
•Experience in training at all levels within a manufacturing organization; demonstrated excellence in influencing, teamwork, project management, and teaching skills.
•Ability to implement, utilize and apply of Computer Based training programs.
•Ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organization. •Strong written and verbal skills; includes executive presence.
•MS Office proficiency
•Knowledge of LMS and Computer Based Learning systems.
•Knowledge of grants: research, application, monitoring of available grant resources •Demonstrated training program development including ability to research and “tweak” vendor training programs to meet the needs of the organization.
•Flexibility – scheduling and delivering training may need to occur on off shifts. •Excellent planning, organizing and project management skills.
•Ability to take ownership of and focus on critical initiatives.
•Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
•Action and results oriented.
