About This Role

The Director for the Principal Technology Investments (PTI) Division of Wells Fargo Strategic Capital (WFSC) serves as a leader in running within one of two Technology investing teams Pods with a focus on Property & Mortgage Tech . Within the culture of a team-based approach to investing, the Director will have primary responsibility for leading this sector in all aspects of the investment process including sourcing, evaluating, executing, closing, and portfolio monitoring. Key areas of responsibility of new investments and existing portfolio investments include leading due diligence requests, legal entity work, onboarding and closing processes, and other activities to prepare investment proposals for approval and booking. This includes evaluating the risk and reward of investment opportunities and making recommendations based on the evaluation to WFSC's Investment Council. The Director will respond to portfolio company questions about investments and serve as a relationship manager on the deal team, handling relationships with portfolio companies and other investors. Business development in the Property/Mortgage Tech sector will be a key part of their duties as well as leading and actively mentoring a team of three investment professionals, to include Director(s),the VP(s) and Associate(s) on the broader team.

The Principal Technology Investments (PTI) Division of WFSC was started in 2015 and this Director position/Team Lead will have the opportunity to be a leader in further growing this investment platform as it develops over time, particularly, in expanding the presence in the domain of Property/Mortgage tech. In doing so, the Director will have the opportunity to use a broad array of creative financial structures to provide solutions for some of the most interesting and exciting companies in this sector. The Director will also have the ability to leverage proprietary deal flow sources associated with being a part of Wells Fargo. The position will report to the head of the WFSC PTI Division.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Strategic Investment Management, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to work with a sense of urgency and intent
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn
• 5+ years' experience in property and mortgage tech industry preferred
• Proven skills in financial modeling (e.g., analyze financial statements, create financial models, private capital valuation methodologies)
• Graduate level degree (e.g., MBA) or equivalent expertise preferred
• Ability to work independently or in teams and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
• 5+ total years' work experience in one or a combination of: venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or strategy consulting

Pay Range

New York, New York: $207,900 - $431,900 Annually
