• Any equivalent combination in which education and experience are interchangeable at the rate of one year of education for one year of experience.
• Graduation from high school, including or supplemented by courses in algebra and geometry, OR

• Work is performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
• Possession of a valid Iowa Motor Vehicle Operators License issued by the Iowa Department of Transportation.

• May perform other related nonprofessional duties involving Engineering and Public Works.
• Takes measurements with tape or chain.
• May perform simple engineering drafting and other surveying and simple drafting duties as directed.
• May act as relief instrument person; performs non profes
• Performs related work as required.
• Makes simple computations and field notes; prepares cross sections, profiles, mass diagrams and charts.
• Sional engineering work not involving the use of complex formulae.
• Drives stakes and clears brush, carries and cares for survey instruments, tools and vehicles.
• Assists on level or transit work; sets and marks grade stakes, hubs and turning points; constructs bench marks and monuments; marks in field and records high water during floods.
• Acts as head or rear chair bearer in a field survey party.
