Job Summary And Qualifications

The Sepsis Coordinator provides coordination of the Sepsis Program with the Medical Staff through professional relationships with physician champion, Intensivists, emergency physicians and other medical/support staff for maintenance and growth of the program. The position conducts monthly Sepsis Program meetings for the evaluation of outcomes, policy and protocol development, review of current best practice through networking and ongoing education and provides input into enhancement of current Sepsis Program. The position coordinates process improvement activities which include assignment to various departments for required follow up to improve performance outcomes. The position is responsible for tracking, reporting, and submitting hospital Sepsis data to Quality Department and national benchmarking agency(s). The position requires consulting with healthcare team and patients during hospitalization. The position is responsible for developing patient teaching materials and staff development regarding care of the Sepsis patient and development of related materials.

What Qualifications You Will Need

• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. Level entry training may be a bachelor’s degree in nursing or a master’s degree in nursing.
• Three to five years of Acute Care, Critical Care, and/or ED experience with a solid grasp of hemodynamics.
• Current Florida RN License.
