About Our Science (let's Nerd Out)
Ecolectro is bringing green hydrogen to the near future through electrolyzers that integrate patented polymers into high performance (ionic conductivity & current density) and durable stacks. Our scientists and engineers design & build units with our exceptional membranes and electrodes, delivering high production rates and efficiency of pure hydrogen without the need for platinum, iridium and titanium. We continue to push the limits of electrolysis technology with an emphasis on research and willingness to challenge assumptions.
The role & team
As our first Lab Manager you’ll join our small but mighty R&D department and be an active participant (not a bystander) in our innovation, and support our work on problems that matter, connect to a larger purpose, and see your ideas come to life!

What you’ll do!

• Implement inventory management best practices and act as inventory manager for R&D team
• Maintain compliance documentation including cleaning logs, maintenance logs, SOPs, and training documentation
• Manage lab resources effectively and actively seek out process improvement opportunities.
• Lead purchasing efforts for the Electrochemistry & Organic Synthesis & Materials Teams including chemical, parts, supplies, and equipment, ensuring the team has the necessary resources
• Track, review, and resolve any incident reports, issues, or compliance
• Drive and manage equipment maintenance efforts for the R&D team, ensuring each team member is compliant with lab & safety policies
• Collaborate with the broader R&D team to communicate ideas, processes and SOPs
• Act as EH&S Officer, ensuring compliance with training, inspections, and chemical waste management

What You’ll Bring To The Table

• Analytical and problem-solving skills and agility to move at a dynamic pace
• Ability to work independently with little oversight
• Experience managing a laboratory
• Passion and energy needed to support a growing startup; balanced with humility and awareness of team dynamics necessary to work well in a team
• Strong understanding of procedures, SOPs, QC/controls to ensure accurate data is reported
• Experience managing inventory & implementing processes
• Startup mindset — ability to easily switch focus from big-picture mission to daily goals, adapt to change, wear several hats, work independently, come curious with initiative and energy

• Salary of $65K/year. Our pay bands are based on compensation research relative to role, level, and data for companies of similar size and stage. We audit this data twice yearly and adjust for market changes.

Compensation Range: $60K - $65K
