AeroControlex is actively seeking a Junior Network/Voice Engineer to join our team. The Network/Voice engineer will perform Tier 1 LAN/Voice/Video helpdesk functions.This role will provide assistance directly to end users focused on LAN/Voice/Video systems.Additionally, the role will be involved with the design, operations and maintenance of LAN/Voice/Video services for the organization as well as perform upgrades and new technology reviews while maintaining currency with LAN/Voice/Video skills. The role will have direct access and require coordination with the IT Director and peers to troubleshoot, modify or establish LAN/Voice/Video services in support of business functions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update diagrams/documentation of evolving the environment and operational procedures.
• Experience with configuring and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)
• Provide and manage a secure, high-performance network, for services including VoIP, QoS, CoS, LAN’s, SBC’s, traditional TDM and SIP.
• Experience with firewalls and their services and security.
• Write and maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures (SOP), and desktop procedures.
• Experience with Microsoft and O365 suite (Azure & Active Directory)
• Deploy, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot telecommunications equipment and network to include various network vendors (WatchGuard and Cisco preferred).
• Ability to manage limited administration duties.
• Provide senior level planning, scheduling, testing, and coordination for installation of upgrades.
• Ability to manage Laptop/Desktop configuration and basic PC setup.
• Must be familiar with Cisco networking technologies and configuration.
• Experience deploying multiple Virtualization technologies, including Microsoft’s Hyper-V, Microsoft Virtual Server, VMWare ESX, and VMWare Server.

Qualifications

• Excellent Verbal and written skills
• Relevant work experience in a similar position in industrial manufacturing.
• Attention to detail and strong ability to detect network issues quickly.
• Capacity to work independently or with little supervision.
• Familiarity with control models and system security.
• Ability to understand management’s business and industry needs, and specialized requests.
• Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully performing essential duties of computer software/computer systems engineering, computer systems and networks, network security management, etc.
• Organizational aptitudes and the capacity to organize workload.

Experience:

• Business background with some understanding of OTC, PTP, FTM, etc.
• 3+ Years of experience in a manufacturing Environment is highly preferred
• 3+ years of total Information technology experience including security/compliance

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of firewalls / Routers / Switches
• IBM I series AS400 experience a plus.
• Network protocols and Technologies
• Experience with security controls and frameworks
• ERP experience in manufacturing environment
• SQL Management Studio experience a plus.
• VMware/HyperV
• Modern backup solutions
