About The Job

We are currently looking for a Part-Time Junior Graphic Packaging Designer for one of the oldest packaging businesses. This position will assist in creating and developing new packaging designs utilizing corrugated, foam, plastic and wood material for retail point-of-purchase displays and manufacturing industries.

Responsibilities

• Enhance existing concepts or designs
• Manages and disseminates information, prototypes, and electronic files through the entire design process into production, assembly, and placement
• Create graphic designs, logo development, and digital implementation
• Work with the sales team and customers to provide effective solutions for the customer’s product through assessment of information provided and translating it into creative structural design solutions, considering visual and structural integrity and cost effective manufacturability and assembly
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned
• Create designs in a variety of formats and materials, including structural prototypes of packaging, three-dimensional drawings, photographs, illustrative renderings, technical drawings, and assembly instructions

Requirements

• Currently working toward a degree in a design related or engineering field is preferred
• Experience working with 2D & 3D CAD and Adobe Illustrator is preferred
• Able to lift 50lbs
• Able to sit, stand and walk for periods of time
• Excellent spatial reasoning skills
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required
• Must be detail oriented
