Junior Digital Designer

Tarte is seeking a Junior Digital Designer to support graphic design & production needs for the Digital Design team. This role is integral to maintaining Tarte.com assets as well as paid media for product launches and promotions. The Junior Digital Designer reports into the Senior Digital Designer. This position will be NYC based with flexibility to work form home.

Responsibilities:

• Proof and perform QA
• Updating website regularly along with regular image maintenance
• Versioning and reproducing assets for campaign creative; Ensuring continuity in visual messaging across all digital channels
• Execute day-to-day designs: high volume of MMS, PDP imagery, category page banners, site content slots, emails, homepage assets and online acquisition advertising across desktop and mobile devices
• Strong coordination with Creative, Brand and Digital Marketing teams are a must!
• Slice and prep weekly editorial features for launch
• Siloing & pre-production work for imagery used in promotions and launches
• Maintain impeccable file & template organization in Dropbox. Communicate with team and cross-functional partners as to where assets can be found as needed
• Design and resize all artwork/product image updates across tarte.com for ongoing seasonal launches and promotions
• Research industry trends to present ideas and concepts for timely digital innovation
• IG/YTB video execution a plus
• Present designs and needs in weekly meetings with cross-functional partners

Requirements:

• Knowledge of post-production and retouching process
• Keen eye for clean design and ability to execute tactical direction both flawlessly and efficiently
• Ability to function in fast-paced environment and juggle multiple responsibilities/projects at the same time
• Self-motivated, passionate about design in general and collaborative approach to work
• Proficient in Adobe CS Suite (expert proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop), AE/figma experience is a bonus
• Ability to form and maintain relationships among our team and cross-functionally
• Beauty or Retail experience on an eCommerce-focused design team, preferred
• Strong photo retouching skills for the ability to replicate across digital mediums
• Ability to work independently on assignments from concept to completion and execute all steps in between with minimal direction
• Understanding of design layout, typography, information hierarchy and slicing
• BFA/BA in Design, Digital Design
• Ability to color-retouch image assets in some instances
• Ability to retouch on the fly
• 1-2 years of experience as a digital/web designer (agency or in-house creative department preferred)
• Organized files and layers within PSDs
• Mobile-first mentality
• Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve within design constraints
