Information Security Engineer

Fully remote and full-time/direct hire with a client of Insight Global.

$75-90k base salary based on experience. This is a junior-level role with the opportunity to grow into more.

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Information Security Engineer. In this role, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's information security infrastructure. You will work closely with our experienced security team to protect our systems and data from potential threats, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our information assets.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of information security controls, policies, and procedures.
2. Monitor and analyze security events and alerts generated by various security tools, such as KnowBe4, VeraCode, Crowdstrike, DUO, and 1password.
3. Conduct vulnerability assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and security weaknesses in our systems.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security measures and address identified vulnerabilities and risks.
5. Assist in the development and implementation of incident response plans, ensuring timely and effective response to security incidents.
6. Conduct regular security awareness training sessions for employees to promote best practices and enhance security awareness.
7. Stay up to date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends to ensure our security infrastructure is robust and aligned with best practices.
8. Assist in the evaluation and selection of new security technologies and tools to enhance our security posture.
9. Participate in security audits and compliance assessments to ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards.
10. Document security processes, procedures, and findings, and provide recommendations for improvements.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
2. Strong understanding of information security principles, concepts, and best practices.
3. Familiarity with security tools such as KnowBe4, VeraCode, Crowdstrike, DUO, and 1password.
4. Knowledge of vulnerability assessment tools and penetration testing methodologies.
5. Basic understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and cloud technologies.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
9. Security certifications such as Security+(desirable but not required).
10. Prior internship or entry-level experience in information security (desirable but not required).
