Network/Firewall Security Engineer

This position is for a Firewall Engineer in the Baltimore, MD area and will be up to 75% remote. The remaining time could be spent at customer sites in the above areas. This is a contract to hire full-time position and would require you to pass a background check. In this role candidates will be challenged with exciting enterprise level Firewall related engineering work. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide knowledge transfer and informal training to clients when needed.
• Experience with dynamic routing protocols and MPLS
• Knowledge of Check Point clustering and code upgrades
• Cisco router and switch experience is a plus
• Check Point Firewall experience is required.
• Must have experience with routers and switches.
• Assess, design, implement, troubleshoot, and document Check Point Firewall based networks and related infrastructure.

Qualifications

The following qualifications exist to obtain this position:

• Solid understanding and practical experience with switching technologies (Spanning tree, EtherChannel, Port Security, 802.1X)
• Five or more years of experience in the design, deployment and operations of large enterprise networks
• US citizenship is required
• VPN troubleshooting and design experience
• Must be able to work with end-users, communicate clearly, and meet deadlines
• Experience with Check Point IPS/VPN/App Control is a plus
• Background check
• Solid understanding and practical experience with routing protocols (EIGRP, OSFP, and BGP)
