Key Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Maintains a good driving record.
  • Updates and administers asset database for tracking all UAB IT assets.
  • Conducts cycle counts to confirm physical inventory counts match system inventory records.
  • Works in a Team Environment.
  • Receives new equipment/software purchases and adds assets to inventory database.
  • Inventories surplus hardware and delivers to UAB’s surplus warehouse.
  • Distributes hardware for customer requests and break-fix tasks while updating inventory accordingly.
  • Loads and unloads supplies and materials from the HSIS Cargo truck and van.
  • Assists the HSIS Asset Team in keeping adequate par stock levels and accurate inventory for multiple UAB Health System entities.
  • Makes deliveries to remote clinics and business centers associated with the UAB Health System.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
  • Performs daily operational check of vehicle and follows all UAB rules and regulations regarding the operation of a vehicle for UAB business.
  • Receives and manages inventory and ensures security of assets while in inventory.

:
The Asset Management Technician assists the HSIS Asset Team in ordering, receiving, maintaining, and ensuring security of inventory, utilizing automated inventory database to increase efficiency of the inventory process. The Asset Management Technician is responsible for the distribution and transportation of hardware to fulfill customer requests.

This position will commit to fostering an environment of heightened security to safeguard patients' protected health information (PHI), following Information Technology Security Policies, and participating in security training, such as Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA), on an annual basis.


Qualifications

High School diploma or GED and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Must be approved by the UAB Office of Risk Management and Insurance to drive a state-owned vehicle. Must be at least 21 years of age and have at least 3 years of driving experience in order to drive on UAB business. Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record. Must be capable of driving the HSIS Cargo truck and van.



Preferred Skills:

  • Able to lift and/or move up to 35 to 40 pounds

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products (MS Outlook, Word, and Excel)
