The IT Systems Administrator, as a key member of the Information Services department, provides a combination of analytical and technical abilities as well as oversight of ACA’s IT systems holistically to include, Servers, Hardware, software, network, and overall infrastructure providing subject matter expertise for both hardware and software. The IT Systems Administrator assists with implementing, supporting, maintaining, and managing IT services, including but not limited to server maintenance, networking, IT security, email, and disaster recovery. They will also provide advanced technical support for desktop, server, and networking issues. Systems Engineer ensure all IT services are properly maintained and upgraded, including anti-virus, backups, imaging, and patching. This position reports to the VP of IT Infrastructure.

ACA/NY is dedicated to meeting the needs of people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities by providing comprehensive care management and coordination of service. ACA/NY supports 25,000+ people in its program with support services spanning New York City, Long Island, and the Lower Hudson Valley.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
- Resolve technical issues related to network interruptions
- Maintain a working log detailed all required system updates, as well as date of completion
- Develops/maintains security, backup, and redundancy strategies in conjunction with the information security team
- Complete detailed reports listing requests for technical assistance, steps taken to resolve them, and the specific dates / individuals involved
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
- Meeting with the VP of IT Infrastructure to discuss system needs.
- Proactively ensures the highest level of system and infrastructure availability
- Design, installation and support of computer hardware, systems, and configurations
- Install, configure, assess, and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
- Consult with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
- Provide other support as needed
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on tasks
- Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify viable solutions, and work with developers to implement fixes
- Actively update, maintain, and monitor all aspects of computer networks
- Organize and file documentation pertaining to warranties, service accounts and instructional guides for computer hardware
- Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
- Cloud environments (e.g. AWS/Azure)
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with:
- BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related subject, or equivalent knowledge from experience with similar or related employment.
- Proven work experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows, Chrome. IOS / based environments.
- Excellent written, verbal, listening and communications skills.
- Virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware)
- System monitoring, documentation, and escalation of issues.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to troubleshoot complex software and hardware issues, and develop documentation pertaining to said issues
- Ability to work three or more hours per day on a computer.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with a high level of competency.
- Knowledge of database and networking security systems. Extensive knowledge of computer hardware systems.
- Extensive knowledge of operating systems, Enterprise programming languages, and Office software.
- Must be capable of working collegially with a diverse group of stakeholders
- Ability to travel via driving or public transportation to various ACA/NY locations as needed.
