IT Helpdesk
Technician

The Information Technology (IT) Helpdesk Technician provides technical and troubleshooting assistance related to computer hardware and software, mobile devices, and other tech tools impacting Plant Production, Logistics, and IT Services.
Essential Functions Include
  • Collaborates with the Managed Service Provider (MSP) under contract with Malarkey Roofing.
  • Assists with managing hardware and peripheral device inventory levels at the local site.
  • Monitors IT helpdesk requests and responds quickly and effectively.
  • Assists the IT Department and Human Resources with onboarding new employees and employee separation tasks.
  • Collaborates with IT Dept to resolve broader software and networking issues affecting the local area network and employees.
  • Utilizes helpdesk ticketing software to monitor IT helpdesk requests and responds quickly and effectively.
  • Works with software and telecommunications vendors to resolve on-site provider issues.

Supervisor Responsibilities
This position has no direct reports.
Overall Responsibilities
Duties and tasks are varied but standardized. Applies basic and some advanced clerical/support or paraprofessional skills in procedures, processes, and techniques appropriate for the position within the assigned functional area. Works under the direction and selects from various established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
Knowledge, Education, And Experience
An associate degree or higher in an IT-related discipline is required, with 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred. Experience with Windows desktop operating systems, networking, cloud file sharing, printers, and mobile device support such as Apple IOS and Android. Familiarity with Windows server operating system and active directory, Microsoft 365 Cloud, Azure Active Directory, remote desktop, and group policy management.
Mental And Physical Requirements
This position includes continuous talking, hearing, and frequent sitting in front of a computer. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle, feel, and manipulate keys on a keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. This position may perform work in an office and warehouse environment. This position may require working outside of regular business hours. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, meet deadlines, and work well under high-pressure situations.
