Investments & Finance, Business Manager

The Opportunity

Martello Re is seeking an Investments and Finance, Business Manager to play a key role in developing and executing the team holistic business plan. Reporting to the Chief Investment and Financial Officer, the Business Manager is a key member of the Martello Re team and will be responsible for advancing core business unit strategies and creating optimal connectivity with internal and external stakeholders to support the team’s objectives.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage key strategic investment and finance related technology and data vendor relationships
• Oversee complex business matters to ensure they are addressed properly and efficiently and keep track of progress until fully resolved
• Other duties as assigned
• Partner with the team to establish and deliver on business planning, expense budgeting and reporting
• Design and lead the operational buildout to enhance the infrastructure supporting Martello’s investment and finance functions
• Ensure effectiveness and efficiency of operational processes while deploying a continuous improvement mid
• Partner with the team to create and drive Martello’s investment and finance teams’ business unit strategy, priorities and target operating model
• Deliver strategic and tactical projects and plans to improve the current operating model

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; propensity to challenge thinking, problem tackle and improve processes
• Candidate must be flexible; team-oriented and have strong administrative skills that include ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience with 5 years in investment management/banking/trading business management or operations
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of issues and recommend resolutions
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills to interface between technical and non-technical personnel
• Distill complex materials into summary reports without oversimplifying or missing critical components
• Experience with enterprise-wide systems, automation solutions, and operational best practices
