Base Salary Range: [$86,000 - $110,000]


Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.


Division Description:


Global Banking and Advisory (GLBA) combines recognized wholesale coverage with world-class product, financing, and advisory expertise within one team, enabling us to best support our clients. On the one hand, our transversal, product-neutral coverage teams span all businesses to promote the bank's products and services to our clients globally, and on the other, we provide world-class capital raising, financing and advisory expertise.


Responsibilities:


The Investment Banking Analyst is an integral part of the Financial Sponsor Coverage & Investment Banking team at SG. We seek an intellectually curious recent college graduate with a strong interest in financial markets and serving clients through banking. Candidate will have opportunity to develop an acumen for financial literacy, understanding of multi-faceted and highly sophisticated client base, and grow into a strong analyzer, writer, marketer. The candidate will gain exposure to LBO and real asset financing, portfolio financing, capital markets, hedging among others and a number of industry verticals.


Working directly with the Financial Sponsors Coverage & Investment Banking team and business partners:


  • Listening to earnings releases by management
  • Various internal reports and operational Coverage team support including meeting and pipeline tracking
  • Profitability analysis (advanced Excel modeling) for prospective transactions
  • Pre-Screening / Support Memos (business cases and client profitability analysis)
  • Special sector studies as needed
  • Tracking of live deal and pitch communication for current and prospective clients
  • Acquisition finance modeling (Three-statement, Discounted Cashflow, Merger, Consolidation)
  • Circulation of daily news reports on the sector; Budget and forecast projects.
  • Pitch presentations (slide creation and binding)
  • Yearly budget, periodic income forecast, income correction campaigns on the portfolio
  • Communication with clients for periodic Know Your Client document updates
  • Developing Support Memos (business cases and client profitability analyses)
  • Client profile development
  • Participation in client meetings
  • Interaction with business line product specialists on specific client initiatives
  • Corporate Finance data gathering on individual clients or industrial sectors

Qualifications


Required:


  • Strong interest in finance and global capital markets


Desired:


  • Prior internship or work experience in corporate and investment banking, accounting, credit underwriting, asset management, or consulting
  • Prior experience in accounting, asset management, consulting, or investment banking


Required:


  • FINRA Series 79 & 63 registrations (successful completion of exams within 3-months of joining, if candidate is not already registered)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or other
