The International Purchasing Analyst contributes to Mattress Firm's success by ensuring high quality execution of assigned long lead time overseas product flow to our distribution centers. This individual will monitor and control forecast, purchase order creation, and manufacturing visibility for assigned long lead time programs. The International Purchasing Analyst will also monitor, evaluate, and adjust to conditions throughout the supply chain to ensure proper inventory holding levels at all times. The International Purchasing Analyst partners with a cross-functional group from Inventory, Merchandise Planning, Vendor Compliance, Operations, Logistics, and vendor partners to provide the information, analysis, and action necessary to maintain and improve business processes and procedures.
Develop and communicate purchase plan forecast to internal and external partners for long lead time programs within prescribed timelines.
  • Assists Inventory Purchasing, Inventory Planning, and Vendor Compliance teams with processes to facilitate inventory flow and manage KPIs.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate rate of sale and inventory levels across the supply chain for assigned products.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing visibility tools to align the demand forecast and manufacturing build plan.
  • Execute monthly purchase orders within contractual agreements for direct to distribution center containers in alignment with manufacturing and delivery timelines.
  • Continuously reconcile inbound deliveries to forecast expectations based on ex-factory dates.
  • Execute weekly purchase orders to non-container DCs in alignment with contracted levels. Partner with vendor on deconsolidation and transload timing to ensure timely consumption of inbound units.
  • Monitor on-time delivery of products into domestic ports and develop plans for release of products to destination carrier.
  • Execute purchase orders from vendor domestic safety stock for delivery to MFRM DCs as needed. Partner with vendor to maintain vendor-held domestic safety stock at agreed contractual levels.
  • Develop and implement on-time delivery and process timeline for deconsolidation and trans-load process.
