Intern Quality And Reliability Engineer

Intel's SPPD (Silicon Photonics Product Division) is a leading Silicon Photonics (SiP) products provider. The SPPD's QR (Quality and Reliability) team is responsible for product QR development and qualification; currently, SPPD's SiP optical transceiver products are established as having the best quality and reliability in the industry.

The Intern Quality and Reliability Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to:

• Work on identifying and assessing quality and reliability risks when integrating the SiP components into package/system.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.

These skills shortage roles are typically STEM contributing positions requiring a Master's or Ph.D. degree, or a Bachelor’s degree with three years’ related job experience. Minimum Qualifications:

• The candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optical Science, Materials Science/Engineering, or related technical field.
• Course work or experience in semiconductor fabrication, packaging, laser device, and silicon photonics.
• Hands on experience in instrumental data acquisition setup and analysis.

Preferred qualifications:

• DOE fundamentals, probability, device reliability concepts, and statistical analyses.
• Knowledge of:
  • Electronic package failure mechanisms.
  • Analytical/characterization techniques (SEM/EDX, AFM, X-Ray imaging, IR imaging, surface analysis techniques, etc.)
• Electronic package failure mechanisms.
• Experience in:
  • DOE fundamentals, probability, device reliability concepts, and statistical analyses.
  • Bench-top optoelectronic device/module or high-speed IC testing.
  • Semiconductor engineering related to development of package assembly technologies.
  • Software usage (Matlab, LabView, etc...)
• Software usage (Matlab, LabView, etc...)
• Analytical/characterization techniques (SEM/EDX, AFM, X-Ray imaging, IR imaging, surface analysis techniques, etc.)
• Semiconductor engineering related to development of package assembly technologies.
• Bench-top optoelectronic device/module or high-speed IC testing.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California:

• Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience
