Job Description

Site Reliability Engineer and Automation Developer

Position Overview :

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Site Reliability Engineer and Automation Developer to join our dynamic and innovative team. As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) and Automation Developer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our cloud-based systems while driving automation initiatives to streamline operations. This role combines expertise in systems administration, software development, and automation to create robust and efficient infrastructure solutions. Responsibilities :

1.System Reliability and Performance:
  • Monitor, analyze, and improve the reliability, availability, and performance of our cloud-based systems, services, and applications.
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to integrate performance testing and SRE automation into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Identify and troubleshoot potential issues proactively, ensuring minimal downtime and maximizing system efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify performance bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions.
2.Automation and Infrastructure Development:
  • Develop and maintain automation tools, scripts, and frameworks to streamline deployment, configuration management, and monitoring processes.
  • Design and implement infrastructure solutions using configuration management tools, such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to facilitate continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure the seamless integration of automation processes into the software development lifecycle.
3.Development of Virtual Load Generation scripts
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated scripts using IBM Rational tools or similar such as Puppeteer, Cypress, or Cucumber to perform load testing, performance testing, and scalability testing of our cloud applications.
  • Create and execute test plans, scenarios, and scripts to simulate real-world workloads and analyze system behavior under various conditions.
  • Establish and maintain effective monitoring and alerting systems to detect anomalies and potential issues.

Requirements:

  • Educate and enable product teams to take ownership of automation test suites.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and their scalability features.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Provide leadership in designing and deploying stable, robust and highly maintainable frameworks and tools for end-stage CI/CD and pre-production evaluations.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Go, or Ruby.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proficiency in automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools DataDog, Prometheus and ELK stack.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Certification
  • Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer from cloud SaaS company.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop Automated Test Scripts for Scalability and NFR assessments of Cloud products.
  • E2E and User Experience testing and monitoring using commercial toolkits.

The salary range for this position is $116,900 to $210,400 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
