Overview:

• This 2023 Masters or PhD Summer Internship will focus on Automotive Cybersecurity / Security Research and requires programming experience. This role will report into NIO's Cybersecurity and Safety Team.

Responsibilities:

• Keep up to date with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and mitigation techniques relevant to the automotive industry.
• Conduct extensive research on various cyberattack detection techniques and methodologies.
• Conduct research on cutting-edge techniques for detecting and responding to intrusions.
• Create and maintain documentation related to the design, development, and testing of Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDPS) software.
• Design, develop and maintain software applications that can detect and prevent cyberattacks.
• Cooperate with team members to design and implement cybersecurity threat detection and response solutions.

Requirements：

• Experience with threat assessment and remediation analysis, automotive electronics and microcontrollers, and have relevant security research experience.
• Great communication skills. Ability to influence and socialize technical ideas across engineering organizations.
• Passion for frontier and cutting-edge technologies.
• Strong security background with deep understanding of security design and implementation, such as data encoder / decoder, key management, ACL, IAM, IDS, etc.
• Experience conducting research on threat detection and prevention techniques powered by artificial intelligence is preferred.
• Experience in C/C+ and/or Go programming languages.
• Experience in developing cloud-based services.
• Masters or PhD degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related area.
• Security Research experience including Research, Design of security solutions related to complex systems and platforms.

Compensation:

• The US hourly rate for INTERNSHIP is $45.60 for Master's or $55.80 for PhD. This is a 10-12 week internship from May to August.
