Job Overview

This company is looking to expand its offerings and is looking for a talented and experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team and ensure the highest level of security for our robots, cloud infrastructure, and partner integrations.

Essential Functions:

As a Senior Software Engineer focused on Cybersecurity, your primary responsibility will be to safeguard our software systems, robot devices, and cloud infrastructure from potential security threats. Key responsibilities include:

• Perform audits of existing assets in GCP and ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest security news and trends to identify and mitigate potential zero-day attacks.
• Implement and maintain intrusion detection and response systems to proactively identify and mitigate security incidents.
• (Optional) Collaborate with engineering teams in designing secure APIs and other software components.
• Secure communication between robots and the cloud, as well as within local networks, using appropriate encryption and authentication methods.
• Evaluate and integrate security tools and online services to enhance the security of our systems and infrastructure.
• Conduct penetration testing and simulated phishing attacks to assess and improve the organization's overall security posture.
• Establish, enforce, and continuously improve security processes and policies, including access control, data protection, and incident response.

Qualifications/Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of Linux system configurations, web server (e.g., Nginx) configurations, and common web application attacks (e.g., CSRF).
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles with a Bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles without a degree.
• Proficient in Python and familiar with distributed computing and IoT/device security.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address complex security issues.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to operate independently and educate others on security best practices.
• Knowledge of encryption, hashing, and underlying security technologies.
• Experience with security compliance and auditing processes.
