Cybersecurity Analyst Intern Jobs

Record and manage cybersecurity risk mitigation

General knowledge of Information Security field and concepts

Knowledge of scripting (Python or PowerShell) is a plus

Monitor Grainger environment for signs of compromise and respond to potential security incidents

Protect Grainger computer systems from internal and external threats

Help your colleagues become more resilient to cyber threats

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Understanding of controls requirements for SOX, GDPR, CPRA and other privacy laws

Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISA or CISM

Prepare and maintain security standards and procedures.

Enhance the security training and awareness program for company employees.

Research, develop knowledge, and document findings of recommendation justification in Excel for community review, and ultimately in CIS Workbench directly

Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor

Become familiar with the CIS selected Benchmark and the cybersecurity related justifications for recommendations within it

Become familiar with the following software applications which are core tools for the BMDT: CIS Workbench, Jira, and Confluence

Work with appropriate BMDT Cybersecurity Engineers to understand various Benchmark recommendations and their rational

Strong written and verbal communications skills

Additional skills that would helpful:

The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements to access sensitive information, which requires US citizenship.

Use Microsoft tools like Excel to write functions to analyze large data sets

Execute software installation procedures and user manuals documentation

Practice software installation and maintenance functions associated with support instructions to confirm adequacy of documented process.

Demonstrated experience working on independent, self-motivated tasks, with excellent problem-solving skills.

Assurance of secure operations, response, support, and channel engagement for all offerings

Product innovation and differentiation leveraging cybersecurity capabilities and expertise

Co-op/intern or work experience and an interest in cybersecurity.

Experience with software development principles and processes

Work on providing reporting KPI metrics from cybersecurity tools

Perform diligence checks on security controls to ensure they are being supported and adhered to

Report on and review cloud-based security controls and configurations; Email, Security Center, Compliance Center, Azure

Analyze large sets of data

Support the execution of Cybersecurity Engineering Assessments

Organize team documents and data

Support leadership reporting and presentation material creation

Track project and program activities

Computer Engineering, Mathematics/Analytics or Business Major PREFERRED

Experience in developing cloud-based services.

Security Research experience including Research, Design of security solutions related to complex systems and platforms.

Experience with threat assessment and remediation analysis, automotive electronics and microcontrollers, and have relevant security research experience.

Great communication skills. Ability to influence and socialize technical ideas across engineering organizations.

Experience conducting research on threat detection and prevention techniques powered by artificial intelligence is preferred.

Experience in C/C+ and/or Go programming languages.

Working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for the Assessment and Authorization of classified information systems.

Familiarity with Risk Management Framework and the Assessment and Authorization processes

Experience with Windows products and a basic knowledge of UNIX operating systems

Knowledge of or experience working with secure information systems

Knowledge or experience with Security Directives, Policies, Publications and Regulations.

Knowledge of supporting Cybersecurity activities as a Systems Administrator
