POSITION SUMMARY
The Institutional Consulting Associate on the Graystone Team is often the first point of contact with clients on a broad array of services. Under the direction of the Financial Advisor, this industry professional combines client relationship management skills with marketing skills and product knowledge to cultivate longstanding relationships with clients. The Institutional Consulting Associate partners with team members to address the specific needs and service issues of clients to provide a consistent and positive experience.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Development
- Collaborates with the Financial Advisor / Private Wealth Advisor in developing overall business plans and marketing strategies by independently targeting prospective institutional clients
- Develops customized presentation materials to attract new institutional clients
- Identifies practice management opportunities through various firm channels
- Coordinates enrollment campaigns/meetings for institutional investors
- Provides support on products and services
- Independently develops, implements, and communicates new procedures, and products for institutional clients
- Conducts quarterly/annual business performance reviews in conjunction with the Financial Advisor / Private Wealth Advisor
- Delegates work to team’s Client Service Associate, as appropriate
- Independently improves and streamlines the service model and operational procedures for the team
Client Support
- Coordinates resolution of complex issues/concerns received from the institutional client with input from senior team members
- Initiates, organizes, promotes, and sets up seminars, including material preparation for clients and prospects on behalf of the Financial Advisor / Private Wealth Advisor
- Independently assists institutional clients with market and stock research
- Establishes and cultivates relationships with new institutional clients and proactively helps to resolve issues and concerns
- Attends seminars or client meetings with Financial Advisor / Private Wealth Advisor and coordinates the distribution of marketing presentations to clients
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLS:
Education and/or Experience
- 5+ years of experience in a field relevant to the position required
- Active Series 7 (GS), and Series 66 (AG/RA) or Series 63 (AG) and Series 65 (RA)
- Four-year college degree or professional certification preferred
- Additional product licenses may be required
Knowledge/Skills
- Knowledge of applicable compliance rules, regulations, and firm policies
- Able to work independently and effectively on a team
- Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of financial industry and investment products preferred
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with superior organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Enjoys working with people and receives great satisfaction solving problems
- Ability and interest in working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Reports to:
- Business Service Manager
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $55,000 - $105,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
