Job Description
Continental Disc Corporation has nearly 60 years' experience engineering and manufacturing rupture discs, valves and flame control products that protect the lives of our customers and our environment. We're looking for an Inside Sales Rep. for our OEM business segment to support the OEM sales group by creating proposals for existing direct customer inquiries as well as new opportunities as uncovered by the outside sales team. This position will also assist in the follow up of proposals to close sales and the processing of the orders through the ERP system.


Essential functions include:


  • Assist with mining and cultivating new opportunities including market research to define new applications and prospective customers
  • Perform other duties as assigned, based on workload and business need
  • Minimal travel may be required
  • Follow up on open quotes and other activities in a timely manner and report to OEM Manager
  • Work with Regional Sales Managers and other CDC team members to maintain up-to-date information regarding status of customer activities in order to effectively serve customers
  • Receive customer inquiries and review specifications, drawings and requirements to prepare quotations
  • Make contact with prospective customers to determine business potential
  • Act as a resource for customers and manufacturers’ reps, providing customer service and technical support in an effective, timely and pleasant manner
  • Act as a liaison between engineering / estimating and sales team in an effort to complete the sales process


Requirements


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to develop and maintain rapport with internal and external customers
  • Willingness and ability to follow all company policies and procedures
  • Ability to read basic submittal drawings
  • Proficient using Microsoft Windows and Office products such as Excel and Word
  • Concern for quality, accuracy and safety
  • Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, or equivalent combination of education & experience.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with others, including peers, supervisors, executive management and outside vendors, representatives and visitors when called upon
  • Ability to stay on task and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail
