IT Technical Specialist

80 to 95k

The Technical Analyst or designate will co-ordinate and assist in the activities of the Information Technology department.

Must have at least 1-3 years’ experience in computer support

Education & Certification

Must possess a 2 year technical or 4 year (preferred) degree in the field.

Must possess, Computer Hardware Certification (CompTIA Network+ and Server+) or equivalent

MS SQL Certification a plus

Cisco CCNA Certification a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

• Maintains and validates local facilities disaster recovery plans
• Performs minor repairs and preventative maintenance and arranges and monitors servicing.
• Data Center support and maintenance hardware (physical server, SAN) and software (Windows Server, Vitualization, VMWare, AppAssure, etc.
• Provides computer support to an area including information, instruction and assistance concerning the use of hardware and software
• Documentation of all internal computer hardware and software systems and all related processes
• Installs, tests, configures and upgrades hardware and software at the workstation level.
• Ensure that a clean and safe work environment is always maintained
• Promote an atmosphere of team work at all times
• Ensure that all employees receive proper IT related training and understand all job tasks as it pertains to internally supported systems
• Support of Manufacturing Execution Systems including Real-Time labeling, Printing, and Barcode Scanning
• Support local and remote facilities by being in the after-hours support rotation, as required.
• Network WAN/LAN support experience
• Provide end-user support to all employees with an emphasis on the highest level of customer service and satisfaction
• Keeps abreast of new developments in the field to update skills and knowledge.
• Application Development (Visual Basic, .Net) and general web development (PHP,HTML)
• Project Management Experience
• Assists in basic technical tasks related to the maintenance and administration of an area’s computer network such as assigning passwords, purging print queues, enabling and disabling accounts, monitoring scheduled backups.
• Acts as a resource person and troubleshoots problems within area of expertise
• Complete any other duties as assigned
• Ability to support Advanced Databases (MS SQL, MYSQL)
• Maintains computer and related equipment inventory

Ability to perform well in high pressure situations

Possess sound financial and business insights

Meets expectation rating (rating score of 2 or 3) in all applicable Competencies as defined in the Performance Management Process.

Capable of independent travel to, from and within designated regions

Access to reliable transportation

Must be capable of performing the essential duties which include maximum safe lifts to the 75th percentile of the employee as determined by acceptable standards

EDI experience a plus

IT Security Designation (CISSP) a plus

Experience with repetitive manufacturing

Previous ERP experience

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
