Job Description

2023 will potentially see Sandoz become a standalone organization! Already a global market leader in Generics and Biosimilar medicine, this is an exciting, once-in-a-career opportunity to set our own path forward as an independent, purpose-driven organization, and as the founders of a new Sandoz, this is a time of immense opportunity for us all, both professionally and personally!

Together we will shape the future of Sandoz… are you ready to make a difference?

The Warehousing and Distribution team at Sandoz is focused on ensuring the following: compliant movement of goods into the US to support both manufacturing operations and finished goods distribution; the controlled management of goods while within the control of the Third Party Logistics (3PL) provider; the management of customer orders of finished goods to the customer; and the relationship of transportation carriers.

As the Import/Export Transportation Operations Manager, you will be the primary lead on managing the international shipments, both into and out of the US. You will be responsible for reviewing shipments prior to approval, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures, and ultimately ensuring that the trade compliance program for the company is supported.

Your additional responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • KPI / Metrics Management / Dashboards - gather data, execute, update, and distribute Daily Reports, Monthly W&D Reports & Dashboards, predict future trends, etc.
  • Inbound Transportation Coordination (import) - review, approve, modify, and transmit documents to broker, work with Freight Forwarders
  • Advance understanding of Export.gov's tools/regulations along with global procedures and expectations for denied party screening
  • Proficient Auditing/Review and understanding of rules, requirements, and expectations applicable to pharmaceutical products to protect the company and prove due diligence with advanced understanding of results to identify and highlight trends for review
  • Day to day management of broker communications
  • Knowledge of geopolitical atmosphere, current events, and understanding of trade programs as published by the Office of the Trade Representative to assess impact to import / export activities
  • Quality / GxP Compliance - complete required trainings, follow SOP's and communicate any updates that need completed to SOP's. Ensure training compliance
  • Import-export/transactions review, approval, audit, deviation investigations and record keeping
  • Regulatory compliance (IATA / DOT / RCRA / OSHA / FDA / CBP/ CTPAT / Other) - advance understanding and ensure compliance, requirements, and expectations of all Participating Government Agencies (PGA). Support and lead audits as needed. Support regulatory reporting requirements (Puerto Rico, Annual Product Reviews, etc.)

The ideal location for this role is the Princeton, NJ site, where hybrid working principles apply. A distant working arrangement may be considered in certain states for US associates who are not within a daily commutable distance (more than 50 miles one way). Distant workers are responsible for the cost of home office expenses and periodic travel/lodging to the Princeton, NJ site, as determined necessary by hiring manager.
