Job Description
We are a passionate team at the forefront of making a difference in kids' lives, one meal at a time. Partnering with schools and communities, our mission at FoodCorps is to nourish kids' health, education, and sense of belonging through the power of food. We envision a world where every child experiences the joy and empowerment that comes from a healthy relationship with food. Our AmeriCorps members work hand-in-hand with educators and school nutrition leaders, providing nourishing meals, food education, and culturally affirming food experiences that celebrate the whole child. Not stopping at direct service, we advocate for policy changes, grow networks, and cultivate leaders dedicated to every kid's health and wellbeing. Together, we're on a mission to ensure that by 2030, every child has access to food education and nourishing food in school!
Who We're Seeking
Are you ready to become an essential part of our passionate team? FoodCorps is searching for a highly organized and dedicated individual to join our Impact Programs Department as an Administrative Coordinator. As the heart of our operations, you will provide crucial administrative support, helping our team flourish, deliver exceptional programming, and stay on track to achieve our ambitious goals.
About You
You are driven by our mission, deeply committed to food justice and educational equity. Administrative tasks don't daunt you; instead, you see them as opportunities to empower teams to perform at their very best. Your impeccable attention to detail, proactive approach to anticipating needs, and ability to handle multiple tasks with ease set you apart. Your "no task too small" mindset connects the dots between day-to-day duties and the greater vision of the organization. You effortlessly manage priorities, staying forward-thinking even amidst shifting demands.
Primary Responsibilities
As our Administrative Coordinator, you'll play a pivotal role in driving our Impact Programs Department forward. Your diverse range of tasks will include:
Masterful calendar management for Impact Leadership, ensuring seamless scheduling and logistics for recurring meetings and other requests.
Efficiently supporting meeting notes and synthesizing key takeaways and next steps.
Providing essential administrative support to Impact Leadership staff, individually and collectively, by coordinating logistics for team gatherings and meetings.
Being accountable for programmatic processes and tracking their progress.
Facilitating clear and effective internal communications, ensuring every team member has the information they need to contribute to our strategic goals for students.
Streamlining communication to service members and program staff through drafting templates and announcements.
Being the first point of contact for internal and external partners, addressing inquiries and elevating important needs and questions.
Partnering with meeting facilitators to ensure accessibility and engagement for all participants.
Measures Of Success
Within your first year, we expect you to achieve significant milestones:
Establish clear and accessible cross-departmental communication, fostering transparency and shared purpose. 90% of Impact Programs Staff should report that the weekly digest supports their work effectively.
Organize team meetings and department spaces to optimize time and productivity. Meeting agendas should be shared with participants at least 2 working days before the meeting, and summaries/next steps provided within 1 working day.
Provide top-notch administrative support through calendar management, agenda creation, and data input, allowing 100% of the Impact Leadership team to spend less time on these tasks.
Ensure that our service members have the necessary information to fulfill their roles effectively. Achieve an 85% completion rate for required processes, such as submitting their Service Member Action Plan and the Mid-Term Review.
Thriving At FoodCorps
At FoodCorps, we value our team members' well-being and offer comprehensive benefits that support a healthy work-life balance, including:
Time Away: Enjoy a range of time-off benefits, including half-day Fridays, 5 weeks of accrued time off, 12 federal holidays (plus your birthday!), a 2-week winter break, and a sabbatical policy.
Family Planning: We support our employees' family needs with 16 weeks of paid parental leave and financial assistance for adoption fees, surrogacy expenses, contraceptive services, and travel for abortion services.
Ongoing Support and Professional Development: We encourage a flexible work environment with an annual home office fund, internet bill reimbursement, and an annual professional development fund of $500.
How To Apply
We are eager to welcome you to our team! To be considered, please submit your résumé and cover letter through our hiring site. Applications will remain open until we find the perfect match for this role.
Salary
Starting salary for this position falls within the range of $43,000-$50,000 per year.
