GENERAL DUTIES


Provides information and services to the College community to support the Human Resources function.


  • Assists HR managers with employee communications of all kinds; may prepare materials, conduct orientation sessions, or update web pages
  • Responds to requests for information; troubleshoots issues, follows up and responds to employee inquiries
  • Maintains an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements relevant to human resources
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Organizes and processes employee information; develops and maintains reports and queries; assures data accuracy and completeness

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION


In support of campus mission, strategic plans and goals, Queens College seeks to fill an HR coordinator for the Training and Recruiting vacancy in the Office of Human Resources.


Duties


Along with the CUNY Title Overview, duties for the title include, but are not limited to


Reporting directly to the HR Generalist for Training and Recruiting, the HR Coordinator performs various activities to support HR policies, procedures and programs.


  • Represent Queens College at Career Fairs as needed
  • Coordinate campus-wide special events, such as Administrative Professionals Day, Flu Clinics, NYC Wellness Programs, etc.
  • Serve as the point person for the posting of external ads, monitoring and paying all advertising invoices, and ensuring budget is up to date for advertising
  • Coordinate and deliver training and development activities, both digitally and in person, such as Annual State-mandated Sexual Harassment Training and Workplace Violence Training, Lunch and Learn sessions, on-site training sessions sponsored by the campus, and external training opportunities endorsed by CUNY UHR etc.
  • Work alongside the HR Generalist to review and edit job templates for hiring departments
  • Liaise with internal and external entities on training and recruiting matters
  • Upload and maintain recruiting information into CUNY's Talent Acquisition Management platform
  • Maintain various records pertaining to employee training records, tuition waivers and campus recruiting


Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree required.

Preferred Qualifications


  • At least two years of professional experience in an administrative capacity, preferably in higher education
  • Demonstrated history of producing high quality work
  • Basic familiarity with talent acquisition and training processes
  • Demonstrated problem solving / decision-making skills
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Prior training and recruiting experience a plus but not required
  • Self starter and ability to be innovative
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills


Compensation


Salary Range: $43,520- $53,184 ; Salary Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience

Part-time employees must meet a weekly or semester work hour criteria to be eligible for health benefits. Health benefits are also extended to retirees who meet the eligibility criteria.
