Job Description

The Human Resource Assistant aids with and facilitates the human resource processes. This role helps administers employee health and welfare plans and acts as liaison between employees and insurance providers. Resolves benefits-related problems and ensures effective use of plans and positive employee relations. Provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance.


Position reports to: Director of Administration & Operations


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer payroll through Paycom.
  • Files documents into appropriate employee files.
  • Prepares new-employee files.
  • Assists with new-employee referrals & background checks.
  • Schedule meetings and interviews as requested by the Director of Admin & Ops
  • Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
  • Assist with all Human Resources functions.
  • Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
  • Tracks status of candidates in Paycom and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.
  • Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
  • Assists with processing of terminations.
  • Perform the onboarding process.
  • Assists with recruitment and interviewing processes.
  • Assist with health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations.


Knowledge, skills an abilities:

  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures.
  • At least two years related experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
