Job Description
Job Responsibilities


  • Assist the fingerprint/id station as needed.
  • Send DocuSign paperwork to applicants prior to their processing date.
  • Enter correctional officer applications into the mainframe/ARS daily.
  • Serves as backup to criminal justice academy (CJA) checks for prior law enforcement or corrections experience in South Carolina.
  • Assist the front desk as needed.
  • Prepare new hire officer employment packages for processing.
  • Conduct background checks (NCIC & SCDMV) for prospective applicants.
  • Contact correctional officer applicants to schedule for processing and assist maintaining the scheduling calendars.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum And Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and clerical or administrative experience. A Bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements: (Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).
  • Three (3) years of responsible clerical, secretarial or administrative experience.
  • Must be NCIC certified or obtain NCIC certification upon employment.
  • Must have experience in the use of personal computers.
