Job Description
Job Responsibilities


General Responsibility


Serve as the receptionist and perform a variety of administrative support functions for the Office of Human Resources at the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED).


Specific Duties


  • Serve as HR liaison. Coordinates w/Forensics on drug testing lists. Process line inspections/workplace inspections.
  • Coordinate the general maintenance of office equipment and maintains/orders office supplies. Process shopping carts in SCEIS-SRM.
  • Maintain retention schedules - destroy files annually based on schedules.
  • Monitor all temporary positions; prepare documentation and process break in service in SCEIS. Create file folders for new employees and labels for vacancy folders.
  • Greet office visitors, schedules appointments and forwards in-coming calls to appropriate personnel. Pick up, process and distribute intergency/postal mail. Review incoming documents and applications for completeness and distribute appropriately.


Minimum And Additional Requirements


  • A high school diploma and 4 years of administrative experience. A bachelor's degree may substituted for the required work experience.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to deal effectively with the public in handling inquiries and communicating information.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Position requires light lifting and reaching to move personnel files and supplies.
  • Ability to establish priorities and multi-task.
  • Knowledge of office management practices.
  • Knowledge of grammatical rules, clerical formats and Microsoft Office products.


Preferred Qualifications


Some HR experience preferred.
