Job Description

HR Generalist on-site with our client in Benicia, CA


The HR Generalist is responsible for all things payroll and human resources. The HR Generalist is a business partner to the leadership team and will make needed process improvements to elevate the HR function while being an employee advocate.


Responsibilities

  • Compile and process weekly payroll data and review for accuracy
  • Coordinate recruiting process, onboard new hires
  • Engaged in with all HR, benefits, and wellness activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and legal responsibilities
  • Coordinate Workers Compensation claims and reporting in a timely manner
  • Reconcile temporary workforce payroll/billing
  • Maintain/update employee data in HRIS
  • Collaborate with local leadership to ensure HR is taking a proactive approach and fostering strong, trustworthy relationships with leadership and employees
  • Participate in HR projects as needed


Qualifications

  • Experience with unions helpful
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Human Resources or a combination of education and experience
  • Ability to prioritize and organize
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • 5+ years of experience working in Human Resources
  • Current PHR or SHRM-CP
  • Ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to think critically
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong Excel skills
  • 5+years experience with Payroll
