About The Position


Maricopa County has recently deployed a new HRIS system that will transform the way HR operates! The Senior HRIS Analyst plays a pivotal role in leveraging technology to improve, drive, and maintain the HR Technology that runs Maricopa County. We just kicked off a complete system upgrade to Workday with a go-live date of September 2022, including HCM, Benefits, Time Tracking, Payroll, Absence, Prism Analytics, Recruitment, Talent, Learning, People Analytics, Help, and Journeys.


The Senior HRIS Analyst will play a pivotal role in designing, configuring, and testing Workday as we tailor our future system to Maricopa County. This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of this massive project and create a huge impact for Maricopa County. We are looking for a dynamic, self-starter, that can jump into this project and hit the ground running. You need to balance the technical work and the personal side of the job as we serve a wide array of customers with over 20,000 users.

We Require


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field
  • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
  • Four years of experience as a professional analyst supporting human resources technology or HRIS systems


Job Contributions


  • Develop engaging reference materials for user training and support
  • Ensure data in HRIS platforms is secure at all times and that the strictest protocols are in place to maintain the data integrity
  • Work with HR staff and employees to troubleshoot system/user issues associated with HR technology
  • Recommend process and system improvements, innovative solutions, and system functionality changes for improving data integrity, data security, and the customer experience
  • Research, analyze, track, and resolve complex system issues occurring in the HRIS platforms and related systems and recommend solutions to prevent further problems
  • Produce ad-hoc as well as routine reports
  • Collaborate with senior staff, business owners, systems owners, decision-makers, and end users to define business requirements, project objectives, and deliverables
  • Document all new processes and configurations to ensure knowledge share among the team
  • Assist in the review, testing, and implementation of HR application upgrades, reconfigurations, and patches


Working Conditions


  • Work is performed in an office environment
  • Hybrid telework and alternate work schedules available after the initial training period
  • May include travel to offsite locations on an infrequent basis
