Job Description

Currently working with one of the premiere multi-state cannabis organizations in Florida as they look to bring on a talented HR Manager to oversee the HR related functions in their cannabis production facility in the Tampa area. They are looking for someone with extensive experience in managing staff in a high turnover environment, working with hourly staff. Current headcount is about 200 so employee relations experience is key. Company is continuing to grow and offers a ton of room for advancement.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to hiring, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Provides support and guidance to management and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Develops HR strategies, policies, and practices in conjunction with department heads and management.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy, particularly regarding current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, recommends best practices, and reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.


REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • At least 5 years of human resource management experience in a manufacturing facility or similar industry is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent on-the-job experience
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
