About the position: This is a hands-on, full-time position with day-to-day duties that assist with running the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department. This includes hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, enforcing company policies and practices, and assigning various administrative tasks. This position must be able to work under tight deadlines and will also be responsible for onboarding new hires and supporting the Company with diverse talent acquisition needs.


Compensation Range: Starting at $54k to $70k (DOE)


What will you do?


HR Generalist


  • Responsible for onboarding and orientating all new hires.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Responsible for all HR aspects of opening offices in different states as needed.
  • May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments (i.e., safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and certifications).
  • May assist with documentation review and attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.


Recruiter


  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employment eligibility verifications.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates hiring qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills, duties, competencies, and other related data required for openings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for hosting and attending job fairs, college career fairs, and technical schools to obtain and recruit talent.
  • Responsible for candidate evaluation, selection, and placement by conducting research or follow-up activities and conferring with management and supervisory personnel.
  • Keeps records of applicants not selected for employment.
  • Reviews job requests, sources, recruits, matches, screens, and interviews applicants against the required job requirements, utilizing an applicant tracking system or actively searching for qualified applicants.
  • Verifies employment applications and examines work history, education and training, job skills, compensation needs, and other qualifications of applicants.


What type of education will be helpful in this role?


  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field is highly preferred.


What experience will be necessary for you in this position?
  • 2+ years of human resource and office management experience is preferred.
  • APHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP is a plus.
  • Experience with Taleo, JazzHR, or similar ATS systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, One Drive, Team
  • 1+ years experience recruiting is required (in the construction industry is preferred).
